This past Saturday, May 21, 2011, was Armed Forces Day. Armed Forces Day was created by President Harry S. Truman in an effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.
It may have been a coincidence, but we were busy on May 21st marrying military couples! Charmaine had the honor of marrying Barbara and Sebastian on Honeymoon Island State Park. Sebastian is in the Army, and will be leaving for his third tour of duty to Afghanistan in June. When asked if it is hard for them they just looked at each other with a special love and said ” no, we’re strong.” Amanda had the priviledge of marrying Leann and Tyler in Valdosta, GA. Tyler is in the Air Force, and just return from his tour in Iraq. He was able to take leave to enjoy their beautiful wedding.
